Addressing the Ego

Have you ever been trapped in your own thought?  Blaming yourself and getting too angry about a situation. What about dwelling in the pain of the past? Do you live with stress and depression? Are you angry because of what has happened a minute ago, a day or weeks ago?  Is that pain and anger playing like some new film in your thought?
It's all an illusion? That is the play the ego wants you to be right now. That is, your ego taking comfort to blind your joy of living. This is your love affairs with your illusions self. The self that is not you, but of whom you've have been associated with for as long as you can remember but have not recognised.  The ego is the self that is not supposed to be but yet is.
You or we all have been trapped by the ego in for a very long time - Isn't time we address who he/she (to use a better word) is? What I am trying to bring to you is no magic, but a realistic approach of how you can free yourself from all illusion. It is not a quick fix because the ego is extremely stubborn and will always challenge your inner self as to why it should look back, be angry, bring you all the past pains and shames. Remember that your ego has been living with you for a long time just like an old stain on your favourite clothes, you will have to be patient to clean it out. You need not fight with it, nor concern with the 'what ifs.'
Deal with it as in how you will deal with a one you have always loved. but have to let go off.   You talk to your Ego. You let it know that you understand where it is coming from and address its needs.
